Megan Brand, Interim Executive Director; Director of Private Services; Community Relations
Megan began work with CFPD in March, 2003. She graduated from the College of St. Benedict in St. Joseph, MN with a degree in Social Work. Megan has over ten years experience working with people with disabilities and their families and supports. Megan began by working with CFPD as a Case Manager and then became the Director of Beneficiary Services. She accepted the position of Director of Private Services and Community Relations in October, 2008.
Megan serves people with disabilities, the elderly and their families, and other supports in improving their quality of life through planning, evaluating and linking them to resources and benefits. She works with each individual in creating a unique plan to meet their needs. In addition, Megan works with other professionals to complement their work to provide quality services to their clients.
Megan is also responsible for developing and maintaining community relations with other organizations and entities who serve people with disabilities and the elderly, while educating the public about the services offered by CFPD.
Dorothy Grimes, Bookkeeper/Office Support
Dot brings 30 years experience in bookkeeping to CFPD. She received her accounting certificate at the Lincoln School of Commerce in Lincoln, Nebraska. Before moving to Colorado, she worked for several years as the accounting manager for a Decal Manufacturer where she received training in Computer Tech and Graphics. At CFPD, Dot manages the accounting program, accounts payable and receivable, financial reports and oversees the computer networking and tech support.
Dot's husband, Harold, has been in the Education field for over 30 years. He is currently the Director of Construction Management, Gen Ed and HVAC programs at Redstone College in Broomfield, CO. They have worked as a team with Youth Church and School Programs. They spend much of their spare time with their children and grandchildren. Grandma "known as Nana" adores her little ones and spends most of her spare time babysitting or doing projects with her grandchildren.
Janette Brink, Administrative Assistant/Rep Payee Coordinator
Janette started at CFPD in Oct 2008 as the Administrative Assistant.
She is a proud native of Arvada, Colorado. She graduated from Pomona High School in Arvada, CO and the Western Culinary Institute in Portland, OR. Janette has traveled to Europe and all states, except Hawaii and Alaska. She currently resides in Aurora, CO with her husband Jim of 14 years, and her son Bailey, age 12, and daughter DeLaney, age 10. Janette is an animal lover and enjoys playing with her 2 Mini Schnauzers and Yorkie named Rowdy Boy. She is actively involved with her children's Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops. Janette has been a member of Smoky Hill United Methodist Church for 14 years and editor of the church newsletter for the past 5 years. She currently is a member of the Administrative Board, Cradle Care Team, Nursery Staff and Nursery Building Team Committee of the church. Janette enjoys golf, reading, church activities, movies, TV and spending time with family and friends. In recent years Janette and her family provided foster care for 13 children. Janette displays her passion for public service by mentoring youth at her Church and working in the church Nursery.
At CFPD, Janette is responsible for greeting guests and callers, providing administrative support to the staff, processing new beneficiary applications and assisting with the Board of Directors and committee meetings.
Kathleen Kellams, Senior Case Manager
Kathleen brings 15 years of experience working with people with disabilities to CFPD. She has a degree in Rehabilitation Services from New York University and held several positions in the field before moving to South Florida. Kathleen's true passion for the profession became apparent when she worked as a Therapeutic Recreation Specialist for Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation. In that role, Kathleen worked with children, adults and seniors with developmental and/or physical disabilities. Since her relocation to the Denver area, Kathleen has worked at two residential service agencies as a Direct Support Coordinator for people living in host homes. In this role, Kathleen was responsible for developing, writing and implementing skills and behavior programming, monitoring the overall care of her consumers as well as insuring that their benefits and monies were protected and used in their best interest.
Cindy Fischer, Case Manager
Cindy has approximately twenty years in a variety of capacities from network technician and sales to auto leasing and restaurant management. After coming to the realization that she would like to spend the remainder of her life doing work that was more meaningful, Cindy made a mid-life career change and returned to college. She completed a degree in Social Work with an emphasis in child welfare while interning at Denver Human Services. In her last position, she was a Foster Care Case Manager for an agency in Lakewood in which she supervised foster homes, wrote treatment plans, advocated for children, coordinated services, provided foster care training and responded to family crisis.
In related experience, Cindy was appointed to be a CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) in Jefferson County for children experiencing abuse and neglect. Cindy continues to work with these children as a foster parent. Additionally, she has prior experience working with those with developmental disabilities as an Employment Consultant helping those with disabilities find and maintain employment. Cindy is also a volunteer escort with ArtReach a non-profit designed to bring the arts to disadvantaged populations.
When working with our beneficiaries at CFPD, Cindy adds a personal touch stemming from her desire to treat all people with care and respect.
